The Gender Equality Duty came into force in April 2007. Health boards now need to make sure that the design, development and delivery of services meets the different needs of girls and boys and women and men, including transsexual people.
The duty covers workforce and service users across all levels of the NHS. A guidance document to support NHS Scotland to implement the duty is available below.
